You Are Special Today

Last night I went to bed thinking of you, and have spent all day today thinking of you. It’s just a silly thing but I want to know what type of cake you would have chosen for your birthday. You used to switch it up a little- sometimes an ice cream cake, sometimes that Italian love cake mom used to make. I don’t know what you would have wanted to have to celebrate. We would have gotten out the red You Are Special Today plate though and joked how you’re only special today, not on any other day. That’s not true though, you really are special to us every day- I hope you know that. Your new nephew isn’t going to come on your birthday, I guess you wanted to keep it just for you! I know you’ll be with him though and help to make him feel special every day of his life too. Happy Birthday. I love you.
