Tomorrow is Thursday….

Hi Kara….tomorrow is Thursday. For the past two years tomorrow has been the day I realized that you and I would not be able to sit next to each other at Christmas dinner, that we would not eat 6 of the peanut butter chocolate kiss cookies that you, your Mom and sister always brought to Thanksgiving, etc. Tomorrow used to be the day that I found out you were gone. I, however, have come to realize that you are very much here with all of us. You are alive in each of us… The tears have been transformed into private smiles exchanged between cousins when we remember the “great food fight of the studio in the 1980s.” Tomorrow I will not mourn your loss. It will be another Thursday. Another Thursday when I can celebrate your life, our times together, and the second generation of cousins who will make their own memories of Schwartz family holidays. Kara, your Mom and Em made the peanut butter chocolate kiss cookies for the first time in a long time…. I ate about 7 (I ate an extra one for you).
