Pieta

I’ve spent the last 6 months working with gang members in East L.A., and feeling like I was losing — day by day — any sense of vocation i had. Why was I doing this? What was the priesthood all about? Finally coming home, the guys in my novitiate class and I got together for a retreat in Syracuse, to prepare for our vows this summer. I was lost, not feeling even close to committing my life to much of anything. And of course, when I moved into the retreat house, what was the first thing I saw? Your name, Kara, under the Pieta statue in the back yard. And I felt at home again. In the retreat, and in my vocation. Thank you.
