It has taken me a long time to post a message on your web page Kara. I just couldn’t find the right words to tell you how much you meant to me, to our family, to our friends… Growing up you were always the cool older cousin. I was constantly trying to catch up to you. I am not sure when it happened…you must have waited for me…but we became more than cousins…we became friends. Sitting on your bed late at night…we talked about crushes and boys (you counseled me through my Ryan Loysen phase). We swam across Conesus lake side by side…and even waited for cousin Justin who was swimming his only stroke: the doggy paddle. We cruised around Lakeville blasting Tiffany’s version of I Think We’re Alone Now. I think of you everyday. You creep into my mind during those quiet times during my day. I think of you on my late night T rides home from work. I finally left Rochester…moved to Boston like I always told you I wanted to. When it came time to make my decision I drew strength from your memory. I thought about your seemingly unending quest for adventure (New York especially). I revisit our times together…now times frozen in photographs…but when I close my eyes they are in motion and they are real. Thank you for being my cousin. Thank you for being my friend.
